Tropical Blue

The Tropical Blue uniform is worn year-round at all occasions where coat and tie are not required or expected.  Typical occassions include monthly flotilla meetings, division meetings or public affairs events.

Items can be obtained at the base Exchange, District stores or the Uniform Distribution Center.

Required Item Additional Comments
Light blue short sleeved shirt The light blue Air Force style short sleeve shirt with a stand-up collar with stays and epaulets is worn. With this shirt, the collar is worn open, without a tie.
Long Dress Blue Trousers Trousers shall be the same as those prescribed for Service Dress Blue uniform.
Skirt Optional for women
Black Belt A black web belt with a silver buckle and tip is worn. The buckle may be plain or display the Auxiliary emblem.
Shoulder boards Shoulder boards are worn facing outboard with the appropriate rank/office insignia.
Black Shoes Shoes shall be black, with heels, made of smooth leather or a synthetic material. Shoes shall be low cut of plain style without decoration. There shall be no stitching or seams across the toe. Heels shall be no higher than 1 inch. Sole edges, heels and laces must be black.
Nametag Nametags will be worn centered ¼ inch above the top of the right chest pocket.
Ribbons Mounted on a single ribbon bar assembly with the appropriate number of rows. May be professionally block mounted. Centered ¼ inch above the left pocket flap or equivalent location.
Ordered by precedence from top down, and from the wearer’s right (inboard) to left (outboard).
Placed in rows of three across with no space between ribbons or rows.
When more than three ribbons are worn, only the top row may contain less than 3 ribbons, worn centered over the next row. The ribbon checker may be used to ensure order of precedence is maintained properly.
Qualification Insignia Insignia are centered ¼ inch above ribbons.
Black Socks or Hosiery Socks shall be black, made of knitted or rib knit, undecorated material.
Head Gear The garrison or combination cap is worn with this uniform.
