Our Flotilla is particularly involved with
operations. These missions include boater safety patrols, search and rescue
missions, patrolling Navel vessel safety zones, river parades and regattas.
The missions are conducted from boats that meet strict requirements to be
certified as Auxiliary Facilities. The personnel on the boats meet the
United States Coast Guard standards of training in seamanship.
You may be assigned to Harbor safety patrols,
looking for pollution, hazards or other concerns of Homeland Security You
may be called upon to verify an Aid to Navigation, such as buoys, bridge
lights or danger signs. We have an air wing in our Division and several
members have become flight crew/pilot certified.
If you choose to become a Vessel Examiner you
will be trained and will be able to provide vessel safety checks for
pleasure boaters and issue the inspection decal. If you are interested in
boater education, we have lots of opportunities available.
I cordially invite you to attend one of our
meetings and check us out; I know you will find something you would be
interested in exploring further. We currently have 61 members and the rolls
are growing. Our missions vary widely and there is something in the
Auxiliary for everyone. Above all, we enjoy what we do and the friends and
associations made here last a lifetime.
If you do not choose to join the Auxiliary, I
hope you find our website a valuable resource for your boating safety and
enjoyment. We will make every effort to provide you with up to date
information and web links to enhance your experience on the water.
Hope to see you soon and stay safe
